Welcome to Altrusa International, Inc. of Martinsville and Henry County, Virginia.  Please visit our links to learn more about our club.

Altrusa is an international organization that provides community service, develops leadership in it members, fosters international understanding, and encourages friendship through a network of executives and professionals in many diverse fields of endeavor. Altrusa International, Inc. is comprised of over 400 clubs worldwide, with a total membership of approximately 11,000 in 19 countries.

The Martinsville and Henry County Club was organized in July, 1941 with 24 members and was chartered in August, 1941.  The High Point, North Carolina Altrusa Club was the sponsor.  Altrusa International, Inc. of Martinsville and Henry County, Virginia is one of 19 active clubs in District Two with a total membership of over 450.  The club is an organization of professionals dedicated to service, patriotism, efficiency and service.  The Martinsville and Henry County Club meets on the third Saturday of each month for breakfast beginning at 9 o'clock.

A Successful 2009 Phil-Up The Bus Project

Altrusa International, Inc. of Martinsville and Henry County had a tremendously successful "Phil-Up The Bus" Community Service Project!  With the help of many individuals and business and community leaders, members were able to distribute over 250 boxes of school supplies to needy children in Martinsville and Henry County schools.  A special thanks goes to EVERYONE who helped to make the 2009 Phil-Up The Bus Community Service Project a success.
